MassTech Inc., a provider of AP-MALDI technology for mass spectrometry, and Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX, a joint-venture between Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE: ABI) an Applera Corporation Business, and MDS Inc. (TSE:MDS; NYSE: MDZ), today announced that it has signed an agreement to market the MassTech AP/MALDI system as a front end ion source for the AB/MDS SCIEX 4000 Q TRAP® LC/MS/MS. The collaboration brings MALDI capabilities to the 4000 Q TRAP® LC/MS/MS platform to facilitate metabolite identification and post-translational modification identification.
Under the agreement, the two companies will co-market the AP/MALDI product for the 4000 Q TRAP® LC/MS/MS product line. MassTech will provide sales, installation, support and service for its AP/MALDI systems.
