Reproducibility

Due to the recent invention of pulsed dynamic focusing (PDF) technology, AP/MALDI has become very robust. PDF allows misalignments up to 1.2 mm without detrimental effects to ion signal, and as well, allows the use of larger laser spot sizes which reduces MALDI "sweet-spot" effects, producing much more stable ion currents.

Typical Spectra:

AP/MALDI-MS from 64 identical samples obtained in automated mode. 100 fmol of Angiotensin I and Substance P in CHCA matrix were loaded in each sample
